I'm thrilled to welcome you here! As an Ojibwe artist, my passion lies in creating jingle dresses for Native people. While I have received requests from non-Native individuals wanting to buy a dress, I have chosen to decline those requests. The jingle dress holds deep cultural and ceremonial importance to my people and is celebrated for its healing properties.
In light of this, I launched this website to offer meaningful ways for those interested to support my business in different capacities. I am excited to announce that I am now accepting sponsorships from non-Nativeswho wish to purchase a dress for someone special who is part of the Native/Indigenous community.
If you know a Native person who would benefit from a jingle dress, or if you want to support my work, you can donate funds that will allow me to create dresses for individuals on my order list or for someone specific you have in mind. Appreciation vs. Appropriation: What You Can Wear
A common question non-Native allies ask is, "Can I wear your designs?" The answer is a resounding yes! When you purchase from authentic Native artists, you are engaging in cultural appreciation, not appropriation.
Wear with Pride: Our everyday apparel, graphic t-shirts, scarves, and accessories are intentionally created for everyone to wear. When you wear them, you help amplify Indigenous visibility and show your active support for Native art.
Respect the Sacred: Certain items, such as traditional regalia, ceremonial pieces, and specific eagle feather designs, hold deep spiritual significance and are reserved exclusively for Indigenous community members and dancers.
